National School of Government

Company Overview

Programme and project management applies to every area of public sector activity, and affects the work of people in many different roles. Government bodies such as the Office of Government Commerce, National Audit Office and the Treasury agree that structured training and development are essential if people are to acquire the many skills required to lead, commission, manage and deliver services in a constantly changing society.

The new National School of Government provides core skills training and professional development aligned to the requirements of the Government of the day, ensuring that this knowledge and expertise permeates the public service. We are uniquely positioned to work with client organisations in raising performance through more focused, strategic interventions – and are working with universities, business schools, and other public sector academies on the international stage to design, deliver and broker solutions.

We offer a comprehensive range of introductory and certificated courses in PRINCE2, APM and other PPM aspects including risk management from our residential centre at Sunningdale Park near Ascot, and facilities in central London and Edinburgh.  We also deliver events on client premises, and can tailor training to an individual organisation’s requirements.

Operating at the heart of government as part of the Cabinet Office, the National School additionally undertakes consultancy and mentoring drawing on a cadre of our own senior staff and associates with extensive practical experience of programme and project work – and we especially welcome the opportunity that the Showcase presents to discuss the range and potential of these types of involvement with programme and project managers whether you are with a central department, the wider public service or in the private sector
